Established in Karachi in 1978, the City School is today one of the largest private school networks in Pakistan with branches in all the major cities across the country. It currently has 187 schools in 53 cities with over 60,000 students and 8000 employees.

The City School continues to expand its reach to meet the demands for quality education. The knowledge and skills-based curriculum derived from the UK national curriculum guides students from Nursery Level to Cambridge International Examinations Level for sixteen and eighteen years age group, qualifying them for the IGCSE, O Level, and A Level examinations. The uniform implementation of the curriculum gives parents, students, and teachers the advantage of a smooth and efficient transfer from one school to another within the system.

Millennia ago, Socrates claimed that, “To say ‘I know’ is to close one’s mind to knowledge”. Channelling that spirit at The City School, our motto is ‘I Am To Learn’, because we too believe that learning is limitless. We aim to develop each one of our students into true learners, individuals who always seek to broaden their perspective and to face life’s challenges with courage and conviction.

For us, education is a pursuit that goes far beyond a qualification While we aim to help our students excel in the course they are studying, we also hope to instill in them a thirst for learning throughout their lives. At The City School, our teachers, students and parents work together to realise this goal.

Seeking education is not merely the act of acquiring Academicqualification; rather the focus is on bringing spiritual awareness during the pedagogical process. It is the acquisition of knowledge thatenables you to access the most important things in life because withouteducation, one can neither contribute to the world nor earn a living. In addition this is the essential ingredient that sets apart a mature and responsible mind from an ignorant and unrefined one, or helps to discriminate between right and wrong.

The City School has always emphasized upon the development of citizens who enlighten the world around them, using their knowledge and experience in an effective manner.

We believe that education makes a right thinker and a correct decision-maker. It achieves this by bringing in knowledge from the external world, teaching how to reason, and relying on past history to be a better judge of the present.

In the age where technology rules the roost I take pride in sharing this forum which was a distant dream and it has been put to reality by our team of sincere and hardworking staff members and aspiring students.

I congratulate our key Resource Person Mr. Najam us Saqib for taking a lead in designing the articulate Gulshan Campus-A website. He is mentored by the competent ICT Co-ordinator Mr. Danish Iqbal and they along with the web development team were supported by Ms. Niamat Jafferi, Ms. Unbreen Muzaffar, Mr. Kashif Saeed, Mr. Ali Imran, Mr. Abdul Asad, Mr. Younus and the entire ICT faculty; which has mobilized the school’s teaching and student community to work hand in hand for our website; http://gulshancampusa.wix.com/info

While you surf through our school activities I thank our entire team for all their earnest efforts to boost our name in society.

As success breeds success, a few ideas to share with all our stakeholders and if we consider adopting them as part of our daily routine we would become more content and lead meaningful lives.It is extremely important for all to write down goals we want to achieve in our lives. These goals should be measurable and should be made outside our comfort zone.

Successful people are extremely watchful of their thoughts as thoughts are dreams and visions that turn into reality. What we think all the time makes it happen because we attract circumstances and even consequences that we think most about. If we become anxious or fearful of some event that may happen in the future, rest assured it would be manifested. So do always have positive thoughts to lead better lives.

Successful people truly believe that they will be successful because of their belief and extreme confidence of their success. That belief is so intense that they actually live into a state of virtual reality even when they have not achieved their success. Having a belief and really “believing” that it is true is a mental phenomenon that one can practice in mind. One needs to make a very conscious effort and actually do some exercises of the mind to “train” our mind to affirm and strengthen one’s belief system and then march towards the set goals.

Successful People are not afraid of failing. While comparing successful people versus unsuccessful people we realize that the former took a lot of action. Their actions were not always successful, but that did not bar them from taking more actions. They failed miserably at times but continued their pursuit towards their goals. Most unsuccessful people do not take enough action due to fear or fear of failing. That is why they do not progress as nothing moves without any action.

And last but not the least, the importance of reading good books can never be replaced with any worldly reward as this good habit brings humility, unveils hidden mysteries, inspires us to be adventurous and stirs our chords to move ahead with confidence that even surprises us.

Classrooms

Practical classrooms are available for art, science, technology and music lessons.

Laboratories

Science laboratories are equipped with the most modern scientific equipment to facilitate practical work necessary for senior examinations.

Computer Labs

State-of-the-art computer labs provide access to advanced interactive technology throughout our schools at all stages. Students are acquainted with Information and Communication Technology from a grass root level. The latest software as per the requirements of IGCSE curriculum is readily available for use by students.

Libraries

Our well stocked libraries support the curriculum and the reading programmes in our schools while encouraging students to carry out research at home.

Sports

In student’s life sport and games empower them to make their own active decisions and help them to gain an accurate experience, skill, and confidence to lead them on the path of their future.

Music

Music is offered as a subject at various levels and is the basic component of our Early Years Programme.
